The Worship of Creation: A Call for the Church to Refocus on True Worship
Have you ever felt like something’s off in your spiritual journey? Despite attending church, praying, and even reading the Bible, do you sometimes sense that your connection with God isn’t what it should be? Could it be that we’ve been focusing on the wrong things in our worship?
For many of us, the biggest distraction in our walk with God isn't the obvious temptations of sin but rather the subtle shift from worshiping the Creator to worshiping His creation. This has been a struggle for the Church since the beginning. And if we are not careful, it can happen to us too.
Let's take a closer look at the Israelites. They made a common mistake that we still struggle with today. After they were bitten by venomous snakes due to their sin, God, in His mercy, commanded Moses to make a bronze serpent and place it on a pole. The people who looked at it were healed. It was an act of mercy, a symbol pointing to the ultimate healing through Christ.
